You didn’t think I forgot about Hockey, did you?

Last time I wrote about hockey in July, Mark had started to do drills on Friday nights to get his “ice legs” back and been picked up by 2 teams for the summer season: a division 1 team (highest division) that plays on Thursday nights and a division 2 team (middle division) that plays on Sunday nights.
The summer season ended around early August with Mark’s division 2 team winning the championship and Mark being awarded MVP!  Overall, I’d say that’s not too shabby for not playing the whole season!

Division II League Champions!
When the longer winter season started in September, Mark was one of the first 10 players drafted to a division 1 team, going to Team Subway (who is sponsored by Subway).  So far this season their team is currently in 3rd place with the top three teams being very close together.  And, Mark is personally in 2nd place in the Scoring Leaders category with 18 goals and 3 assists for the season thus far. In other hockey news, Mark has been invited to play on a Singapore tournament team!  He had to miss the first tournament he was invited to this past October in Bangkok, Thailand due to his work schedule.  He was pretty bummed as there was actually a Chicago Black Hawks player playing in that tournament due to the NHL lockout.  But he will be able to make the tournament Singapore is hosting Feb 27 through March 2, 2013 where there will be several teams from Singapore as well as teams from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Qatar, and Finland! And he’ll also make the tournament in Hong Kong in May of next year so he’s pretty excited!
